Cleocin SDV 900 mg/6 mL is an injectable formulation of clindamycin hydrochloride, an antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic, works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing bacterial growth. This makes it effective against both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.

The 900 mg/6 mL dosage is designed for intravenous administration, allowing for rapid absorption and effective treatment in serious infections. Cleocin SDV is often utilized in the management of infections such as intra-abdominal infections, soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, and respiratory tract infections.
